I am sending you to harvest crops in fields where others have done all the hard work. John4:38
As we said it previously, God has hidden his knowledge by using the parables, allegory and riddles in the bible. That mean everything is locked and there is a lack of knowledge about the people of God. Hosea4:6 " my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Unfortunately, there is no worship without knowledge according to John4:22-24 "You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” This is why, we need the explanation of the scriptures to help us to adore correctly Almighty God. So, let's go back to our preoccupation which is to find out the meaning of the field and the people who have done all the hard work in the infield. According to the dictionary, field represent an area of open land, especially one planted with crops or pasture, typically bounded by hedges or fences. On the other hand, the field has a meaning in prophetic language which is a Jacob son of Isaac. Genesis27:27-29" So he went to him and kissed him. When Isaac caught the smell of his clothes, he blessed him and said, “Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the Lord has blessed. May God give you heaven’s dew and earth’s richness— an abundance of grain and new wine. May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.” Remember that allegory, parables and riddles hide the secret of the kingdom of heaven. However, in this context Isaac, who blessed Jacob represent God and Jacob is the shadow of Jesus Christ. John3:35"The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. We understood that Jesus was referring to himself while he was speaking on the field that we have to go harvest the crops. Because he is the one who was blessed by God and send into the world to be a blessing for anyone who will trust in him. The same illustration, we see it in the shadow while Naomi was returning to her country, she was with her daughter in law Ruth the Moabite. Both were overwhelmed by the lost of their beloved husband and was looking how to survive in Bethlehem. Then Naomi sends Ruth to harvest in Boaz's field. Ruth2:1-11"
Now Naomi had a relative on her husband’s side, a man of standing from the clan of Elimelek, whose name was Boaz. And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I find favor.”
Naomi said to her, “Go ahead, my daughter.” 3 So she went out, entered a field and began to glean behind the harvesters. As it turned out, she was working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelek. Just then Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters, “The Lord be with you!” “The Lord bless you!” they answered. Boaz asked the overseer of his harvesters, “Who does that young woman belong to?” The overseer replied, “She is the Moabite who came back from Moab with Naomi. 7 She said, ‘Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the harvesters.’ She came into the field and has remained here from morning till now, except for a short rest in the shelter.” So Boaz said to Ruth, “My daughter, listen to me. Don’t go and glean in another field and don’t go away from here. Stay here with the women who work for me. 9 Watch the field where the men are harvesting, and follow along after the women. I have told the men not to lay a hand on you. And whenever you are thirsty, go and get a drink from the water jars the men have filled.” At this, she bowed down with her face to the ground. She asked him, “Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me—a foreigner?” Boaz replied, “I’ve been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband—how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before. 12 May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”
Here is the explanation, As the scriptures say, we gentiles[Ruth] were excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Ephesians2:12-13 We understood that Naomi has played a role as an evangelism ministry to bring Ruth the Moabite[gentiles] into Boaz field. Matthew28:19-20" Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Instead of going back to her country, Ruth decided to follow her mother in law Naomi. Matthew19:29" And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[e] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. By entering into Boaz field, Ruth the Moabite[gentiles] inherited citizenship in Israel and participated to the promise and covenant which God made with Abraham our father in faith also Ruth the Moabite[gentiles] find the pasture in Boaz's field which represents the gospel of the truth. John10:9 "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] They will come in and go out, and find pasture. What does represent people who had done all the hard work into Boaz field? These people represent the time of Law or Israel people who have received Moses law. Deuteronomy33:4 "the law that Moses gave us, the possession of the assembly of Jacob. However, as a redeemer, Boaz is the shadow of our savior Jesus Christ.
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
